This year's WineUp theme "Prepare for the future", is the one that brings to the attention of wine lovers, new consumption trends, wines with growth potential, but also special attention to wine labeling and attracting people with visual disabilities closer to the world of wine.

"This edition is long awaited by wine lovers from Transylvania. This is confirmed by the record number of tickets sold and the messages of anticipation we have received from old and new friends of the event. We are excited to see them and many others who discovered their passion for wine during the pandemic. We have prepared many surprises for visitors, wine launches, and new ranges, they will get to know new wineries that have launched during the pandemic and many international wines." The first visually impaired inclusive labels will be launched at the WineUp Fair in Transylvania. It is a revolutionary premiere announced by the organizers and the Scripor Alphabet of tactile color standardization. Until now it was impossible for visually impaired people to fully evaluate a wine given that they lack the ability to see and differentiate colors.

“With Scripor's tactile color standardization alphabet, colors are available to the visually impaired as an extension of the Braille alphabet. The Scripor alphabet is designed to allow the blind, but also people with other visual disabilities (blindness, amblyopia, achromatopsia/colorblindness) to live inclusively, in a world of colors." Tudor Paul Scripor, inventor of the Scripor Alphabet

Together with the concept of using color symbols on wine labels, a campaign is launched to raise awareness of the need to adopt this labeling system. The organizers invite the participants to two dedicated events: At the WineUp Masterclass: "Guess the color of the wine! A blind wine tasting with only the help of smell and taste", and as part of WineUp In the City: "Dinner in the Dark".

"They are two intriguing events that intensify the perceptions of taste, smell, and touch by voluntarily choosing not to use the visual sense. A truly enlightening experience that you won't be able to find anywhere else. For me, it was a real challenge to work on the concept and to develop these experiences, and writing the first tasting guide for visually impaired people gave me a new perspective of the world around me."
